Mad at people. (Political, I guess.)
I'm just...G-d damn. So when did Alicia Keys go fucking batshit insane (was she always like this, and was I just not aware at how fucked up she is...I know the article's from April, but still)? Is this what drinking the Kool-Aid has done to people (she yelled "Obama y'all!" at the BET Awards...not that being an Obamatron automatically makes you batshit insane, but when you start spouting conspiracy theories about the government's "agenda against black people", you really reflect that fucked up mentality...first we saw it with Wright/Obama there with "AIDS was created by our government to kill black people" and now we have this "the government created gangsta rap & helped kill Tupac & Biggie!" from this dumbass)? I think so, because I'm seeing some decent people going off the deep end.

Good fuck I'm sick of reading about the batshit coming from all political sides, particularly people like Keys! D:

Check out #13...Mr. Hopey Changey sure didn't, since one of his stumping points when he does talk about race is that "there are more black men in prison than in college". Random-ish link re: the rest of this post, but not...it came up after I searched for something more recent on Keys' batshit crazies.

Yep, I've known about her insanity for a while. She thinks white people invented rap to oppress black people. And white people killed the Notorious B.I.G. because he was going to be the next Malcolm X. *rolls eyes*

That's all beautiful, but if you notice, she doesn't deny saying what she said in the interview.

We ask what other gangsta rappers she liked. And that's when Keys drives a steamroller through the wall.

"'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other," she says, putting down the sandwich. "'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."

Come again? A ploy by whom?

She looks at us like it's the dumbest question in the world. "The government."

From the original interview. And here's her statement:

"I feel it is necessary to clarify the comments that were made during my recent Blender magazine interview since they have been misrepresented.

Anyone who knows me and my character, knows that I am not a conspiracy theorist or, by implication, a racist. My comments about 'gangsta rap' were in no way trying to suggest that the government is responsible for creating this genre of rap music. The point that I was trying to make was that the term was over-sloganized by some of the media causing reactions that were not always positive. Many of the 'gangsta rap' lyrics articulate the problems of the artists' experiences and I think all of us, including our leaders, could be doing more to address these problems including drugs, gang violence, crime, and other related social issues.

Additionally, regarding the AK-47 reference, AK-47 is a nickname given to me by some of my friends in jest, as an acronym for Alicia Keys and a metaphor for wowing people with my music and performances, "killing 'em dead" on stage. The reference was in no way meant to have a literal, political or negative connotation.

The recent implications about me are too radical and too dramatic a departure from whom I have continually demonstrated myself to be. I work so hard and give so much of myself to bring about positive change to this world, and I only wish those efforts received as much press and attention as the misinterpretations of the Blender article."

Didn't even bother denying the Tupac/Biggie thing, either.

Doesn't matter, though, because the fires are stoked by the same kind of batshit--doesn't take a genius to find that they got her back!

I read the statement. It is totally different than Blender and fox were making it out to be.

But the biggie tupac thing is retarded. You wouldn't believe how many people believe that.Even Mos Def thinks the government blew up the world trade center and men didn't land on the moon.
